Presently Old Tucson Studios is functioning as both an amusement park and a functioning movie studio.

Amusement Park

Today old Tucson is open 7 days a week from 10:00am until 6:00pm.  The park today has many shows that are for the public to see. These shows include:

These shows appeal to all ages. Shows such as the "Ambush at The High Chaparral" and "The Last Reckoning" are action packed stunt shows that entertain all ages. Other shows such as "The Wiley Show" and "The Treasure of Santa Maria" are lighthearted comedies that all ages will enjoy.

Old Tucson Studios also has many rides. Many of the rides are meant for younger children and are a fun and enjoyable way to experience the old west. Most of the rides at the park are covered by admission but there are a few such as panning for gold and prospecting deep within the El Dorado Mine. Games also will cost you money.

Old Tucson Studios is also a functioning movie studio that has had about 300 films filmed on its Tucson and Mescal locations. After the fire that destroyed a large portion of the studios, Old Tucson has had to turn the Tucson location into more of an amusement park and less of a studio. Most of the current filming is done at the Mescal location.

Most recently however a beer commercial and a Brooks and Dunn video were filmed at these studios. The most recent large Hollywood productions were "Lightning Jack", "The Quick and the Dead" and "Tombstone".
